Thematic maps are maps that show the value of just one particular variable so for example how many people live in an area. These maps are very simple to create.
Begin by having the table that contains the data that you need open. Then open the Thematic map wizard that mapinfo has which makes creating these maps so simple.
1. The first window will allow you to set what type of thematic map you would like to create and what colour scheme you would like to use for it.
2. The second window asks you for the data that you want to show on your map and so you tell the program which table and which field(s) you would like it to use to create the map.
3. The Third window gives you a preview of your map and ranges and allows you to customise them. For example it is often useful to be able to create your own custom ranges rather than just use the ones that mapinfo has created.
Hopefully you've found this overview of how quick and easy it is to create a thematic map useful.
